The formal parent body of St Mary's College is recognised for its pro-active involvement in community educational advocacy and achievements for the school. Many sub committees provide support and direction for a range of school activities.
To facilitate the views and voice of parents of the College.
To assist in developing parent communication both within the College community and between the College and the wider community.
To act as a consultative advisory body for the College and the Principal in the provision of Catholic education and the fostering of the Dominican ethos.
To assist the Principal and staff in the formulation of policies for referral to the Board of Directors for endorsement.
To give support to the College as required in matters such as capital expenditure, the maintenance of College facilities and equipment.
To take part in the strategic planning for the future operations of the College.
Inform curriculum change, reporting procedures and ICT development with parent voice.
Research resolutions and develop proposals for the Parent Advisory Council and Board of Directors pertaining to new initiatives and/or school programs (eg. Uniform changes, canteen matters and ICT issues). The Board will invite participants from Council when appropriate to report on such matters.
